True North Family’s Newest Additions: The Rooms of Quiet and Creativity
At True North, we’ve always believed that a home is more than just four walls – it’s a sacred space where love, laughter, and memories are carefully woven into the fabric of every day. As our vibrant, multigenerational homestead continues to flourish, we’ve realized that creating spaces that honor each individual’s personality, preferences, and rhythms is more important than ever. After all, family life isn’t just about living together – it’s about creating room for each person’s unique needs. And today, we’re excited to share that we’ve added two special rooms to our home, thoughtfully designed to serve Papa and Grams in the most loving, intentional way possible.
Papa’s Quiet Retreat: A Room for Rest and Reprieve
Papa, our wise and steadfast patriarch, has been the steady anchor of our family for as long as we can remember. But even the strongest of rocks need a place to rest and recharge. While Papa cherishes the lively energy of our bustling household, there are moments when the symphony of voices becomes a little... too much. And let’s be honest – his taste in TV shows is, well, unique! That’s where Papa’s Quiet Retreat comes in.
Grams has been working her magic, transforming a cozy corner of the house into a peaceful sanctuary for Papa. This space is being carefully designed to offer him a haven where he can unwind, kick back, and enjoy his favorite shows without interruption. Think calming colors, the perfect flooring, and a big-screen TV strategically placed for Papa to lose himself in his YouTube music sessions, news broadcasts, and documentaries – content that the rest of us might not quite get, but Papa treasures.
The best part? Papa’s Quiet Retreat isn’t just for him. It’s also the ideal spot for his great-grandsons to sneak away when the house gets a little too loud. Picture this: munching on cookies, swiping jelly beans from the jar, and sharing laughs with Papa in a space where peaceful moments – and a bit of mischief – come together. It’s a place where generations meet and memories are made, all while taking a break from the hustle and bustle of family life.
Grams’ Crafting Haven: A Place for Creativity and Memories
Grams, the heart and soul of True North, is a creative genius who brings magic to everything she touches. From vibrant paintings that brighten our walls to whimsical sculptures that pop up around the property, Grams has filled our home with beauty and joy. But even Grams, as much as she thrives in the joyful chaos of family life, needed a retreat where she could rejuvenate and let her creativity flow freely. And so, we built her Crafting Haven – a room where her imagination can roam wild and free.
This beautiful new space is a rainbow of colors and light, filled to the brim with every crafting supply imaginable – beads, fabric, paints, markers, glitter (a favorite of Gigis’ and Joseph’s arch-nemesis!). But the most special feature of this room? The breathtaking window that Joe installed for her. Framing the rolling hills and sweeping views of the property, this window lets Grams enjoy the peace and beauty of nature while watching her grandsons play outside.
But the real magic of Grams’ Crafting Haven comes from the time spent there with the little ones. This space is not just for creating art; it’s where generations come together, where laughter fills the air, and where Grams passes down her love of crafting to the next generation.
The True North Way: Balancing Space and Family
At True North, we’ve always known that family is more than just sharing a roof – it’s about recognizing and honoring each person’s unique needs. So when we set out to create spaces for Papa and Grams, we weren’t just adding rooms to our house. We were creating retreats that reflect who they are, their contributions to our family, and the love that binds us all together.
Building these spaces wasn’t just about adding square footage – it was about making room for each other’s dreams, needs, and those quiet moments that make life so beautiful. By embracing the individuality of every family member, we’ve created a home where everyone can thrive, find peace, and be inspired.
Papa’s Quiet Retreat and Grams’ Crafting Haven are more than just rooms – they’re symbols of love, joy, and respect. These spaces are where Papa can recharge, indulge in his unique interests, and where Grams can create, connect, and pass on her love for crafting to the next generation.
As we continue to grow here at True North, we are reminded daily of the beauty that comes with having a place to call home. A place where every room tells a story, and every story becomes a thread in the ever-evolving fabric of our lives.
